All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna (AIIMS Patna) is a premier public medical school and hospital in Patna, the capital city of Bihar, India. It is one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to correct regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attain self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education. AIIMS Patna was officially established in 2012 and has been instrumental in providing high-quality education, research, and patient care.

AIIMS Patna was established as a result of the enactment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012. This act amended the original 1956 act, allowing for the establishment of six new AIIMS institutions across India as part of the PMSSY. AIIMS Patna was inaugurated to serve not only the state of Bihar but also the adjoining areas, aiming to alleviate the lack of adequate medical facilities in the region.

The campus of AIIMS Patna is spread over an area of approximately 134 acres. It is located in the outskirts of Patna, in the Phulwari Sharif area. The campus is designed to be a self-contained facility with academic blocks, hospital buildings, hostels for students and faculty, and residential areas. The infrastructure is modern, with state-of-the-art facilities for education and patient care.

AIIMS Patna offers undergraduate courses such as Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nursing. It also offers postgraduate courses including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in various specialties. The institute is known for its rigorous academic curriculum and comprehensive teaching methods that include lectures, practical sessions, and research projects.

The AIIMS Patna hospital is a tertiary care health center with a capacity of over 1000 beds. It provides a wide range of medical services to patients from Bihar and neighboring states.
