Andrija Hebrang (born 27 January 1946) is a Croatian politician and physician. He is a prominent member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and has held several key positions in the Croatian government, including the Minister of Health.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Andrija Hebrang was born in Belgrade, then part of Yugoslavia. He is the son of Andrija Hebrang (father), a notable Croatian communist politician. Hebrang completed his primary and secondary education in Zagreb. He graduated from the University of Zagreb with a degree in medicine.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Hebrang's political career began in the early 1990s when he joined the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). He was appointed as the Minister of Health in 1990, a position he held until 1992. During his tenure, he was involved in the reorganization of the Croatian healthcare system amidst the Croatian War of Independence.
In addition to his role as Minister of Health, Hebrang has held other significant positions within the Croatian government. He served as the Minister of Defence and was a member of the Croatian Parliament.
