The Australia national cricket team represents Australia in international cricket. The team is administered by Cricket Australia and is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) status. Australia is the joint oldest team in Test cricket history, having played in the first-ever Test match in 1877. The team also played in the first ODI in 1971 and the first T20I in 2005.

History

The Australia national cricket team played its first Test match in 1877 against England, which marked the beginning of the Ashes series, one of the most celebrated rivalries in cricket.
