History[edit | edit source]

The history of wine production in Cariñena dates back to the Roman times. The region gained official recognition as a Denominación de Origen in 1932, making it one of the first regions in Spain to receive this designation. Over the years, Cariñena DOP has gained a reputation for producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the region.
