Chitalu Chilufya
Chitalu Chilufya is a Zambian politician and medical doctor who has served in various capacities within the Government of Zambia. He is a member of the Patriotic Front (PF) party.

Chitalu Chilufya was born in Mansa, in the Luapula Province of Zambia. He pursued his early education in local schools before enrolling at the University of Zambia (UNZA), where he obtained his medical degree. He later specialized in public health and obtained further qualifications in this field.
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Chilufya had a distinguished career as a medical doctor. He worked in various hospitals across Zambia, including the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka. His work in the medical field earned him recognition and respect, paving the way for his transition into public service.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Chilufya entered politics as a member of the Patriotic Front party. He was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mansa Central in the 2011 general elections. His performance as an MP led to his appointment to various ministerial positions.

In 2016, Chilufya was appointed as the Minister of Health by President Edgar Lungu. During his tenure, he focused on improving the healthcare infrastructure in Zambia, increasing access to medical services, and combating diseases such as HIV/AIDS and malaria. He also played a significant role in the country's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
