- Cleves is a village located within the Miami Township, in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The village is named after John Cleves Symmes who lived here and sold land to the settlers. - Cleves was founded in 1818 and incorporated as a village in 1868. The village was named after John Cleves Symmes, a judge and pioneer who once owned the land the village is situated on.
