Cordis is a renowned medical device company that specializes in the development and manufacture of interventional vascular technology. The company's primary focus is on products for the cardiology, radiology, and endovascular surgery fields. Cordis was established in 1959 in Miami, Florida, and is currently a part of Cardinal Health, a global healthcare services and products company.

Cordis was founded by Don Miller and William P. Murphy Jr., a Nobel laureate in medicine. The company was initially established to develop and manufacture medical devices for interventional procedures in cardiology and radiology. In 1996, Cordis was acquired by Johnson & Johnson, a multinational corporation involved in the medical devices, pharmaceutical, and consumer packaged goods industries. In 2015, Cordis was sold to Cardinal Health.

Cordis is known for its innovative products in the field of interventional cardiology, including stents, catheters, and guide wires. The company's most notable product is the Cypher Stent, the first drug-eluting stent approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the United States.
