David Gibbins

David Gibbins is a British novelist, archaeologist, and television presenter who specializes in underwater archaeology. He is best known for his series of adventure novels featuring the character Jack Howard.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

David Gibbins was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, but was raised in England. He attended the University of Bristol, where he earned a First Class Honours degree in Ancient History and Archaeology. He later earned a PhD from the University of Cambridge in Archaeology.

Career[edit | edit source]

Gibbins worked as an archaeologist in the United Kingdom and abroad, including in Greece, Israel, and India. He has also worked on underwater archaeological projects in the Mediterranean and off the coast of India.

In 2005, Gibbins published his first novel, Atlantis, which became an international bestseller. The novel introduced the character of Jack Howard, an archaeologist who discovers historical mysteries. The Jack Howard series has since grown to include several more novels.

In addition to his writing, Gibbins has also presented television documentaries on archaeology for channels such as the BBC and History Channel.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Gibbins currently resides in Devon, England, where he continues to write and work on archaeological projects.
