Dihydrotestosterone butyrate
Dihydrotestosterone Butyrate (also known as DHT Butyrate) is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid (AAS) and a derivative of dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is more commonly known in the scientific and medical communities as 1-Testosterone Butyrate or Dihydroboldenone Butyrate.
Chemical Structure[edit]
Dihydrotestosterone Butyrate is a modified form of Dihydrotestosterone. The modification occurs at the 17th carbon position, where a butyrate ester is added. This modification enhances the hormone's anabolic properties and allows it to be released more slowly into the bloodstream after administration.
Pharmacology[edit]
Like other anabolic-androgenic steroids, Dihydrotestosterone Butyrate works by binding to and activating the androgen receptor. This leads to increased protein synthesis and muscle growth. However, due to its modification, it is believed to have a stronger affinity for the androgen receptor compared to other AAS, leading to more potent anabolic effects.
Medical Use[edit]
While Dihydrotestosterone Butyrate has been studied for potential medical uses, it is not currently approved for medical use in any country. Potential applications could include the treatment of conditions such as muscle wasting diseases, osteoporosis, and certain forms of anemia.
Side Effects[edit]
As with other anabolic-androgenic steroids, Dihydrotestosterone Butyrate can have a range of side effects. These can include acne, hair loss, increased aggression, and changes in mood. It can also have more serious health effects, such as liver damage, cardiovascular disease, and reproductive system disorders.
Legal Status[edit]
In many countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, Dihydrotestosterone Butyrate is classified as a controlled substance. This means that it is illegal to possess, use, or distribute without a prescription or license.
