Distribution Ranges (AMDR)

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

AMDR stands for Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (AMDR).

How used?[edit | edit source]

AMDR distribution range is the range of intake for a particular energy source or macronutrient such as carbohydrate, fat, and protein.

Purpose[edit | edit source]

Taking recommended levels of AMDR is associated with reduced risk of chronic disease while providing intakes of essential nutrients.

Benefits[edit | edit source]

If an individual’s intake is outside of the AMDR, there is a potential of increasing the risk of chronic diseases and/or insufficient intakes of essential nutrients.
