Dzulkefly Ahmad (born 1 January 1956) is a Malaysian politician who served as the Minister of Health in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from May 2018 to February 2020. He is a member of the National Trust Party (Amanah), a component party of the PH coalition. He has also served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kuala Selangor from March 2008 to May 2013 and again from May 2018 to November 2022.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Dzulkefly was born in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, in what was then the Federation of Malaya. He pursued his higher education at the University of Birmingham, where he obtained a degree in Toxicology.
Political career[edit | edit source]
Dzulkefly began his political career as a member of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). He was first elected as the MP for Kuala Selangor in the 2008 general election. During his tenure, he was known for his active participation in parliamentary debates and his advocacy for healthcare reforms.
In 2015, Dzulkefly left PAS to join Amanah, a newly formed party that is part of the PH coalition. He was re-elected as the MP for Kuala Selangor in the 2018 general election.

As the Minister of Health, Dzulkefly implemented several key policies aimed at improving the Malaysian healthcare system. His tenure saw the introduction of initiatives to enhance the quality of healthcare services, increase accessibility to medical facilities, and promote public health awareness.
