Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is a state-level examination in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana. It is designed to provide admission to various undergraduate programs in the fields of Engineering, Agriculture, and Medicine. To appear for EAMCET, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of India.
  • Should belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana and meet the local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana Educational Institutions.
  • Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
  • For candidates seeking admission into B.V.Sc. & A.H. / B.Sc. (Ag) / B.Sc. (Hort) / B.F.Sc. / B.Tech. (FT) courses, they should have passed or appeared for the final year of intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto with any two/three of the subjects indicated against each course noted below:
 * B.Sc. (Ag.): Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Vocational Course in Agriculture.
 * B.Sc. (Hort): Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Vocational Course in Agriculture.
 * B.V.Sc. & A.H.: Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences.
 * B.F.Sc.: Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences, Vocational Course in Fishery Sciences.
 * B.Tech. (Food Technology (FT)): Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences.

Examination Pattern[edit | edit source]

The EAMCET examination is divided into two parts: Engineering and Agriculture & Medical. The Engineering examination is of 3 hours duration and consists of 160 questions (80 Mathematics, 40 Physics, and 40 Chemistry) based on a multiple-choice question (MCQ) format. The Agriculture and Medical examination also lasts for 3 hours and includes 160 questions (80 Biology, 40 Physics, and 40 Chemistry).

The syllabus for EAMCET is based on the curriculum of the Intermediate Course (10+2) of the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. It includes topics from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry for Engineering and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for Agriculture and Medical streams.

The admission process involves qualifying the EAMCET examination with a minimum percentage of marks as prescribed for the category of the candidate.
