Expulsion
(Redirected from Expelled)
Expulsion refers to the act of forcing out or ejecting something or someone, often from a physical or metaphorical place. In a medical context, it often refers to the process of childbirth, where the fetus is expelled from the uterus.
Medical Expulsion[edit | edit source]
In the field of Obstetrics, expulsion is the second stage of labor, following the dilation stage and preceding the placental stage. During this stage, the uterus contracts to expel the fetus through the birth canal.
Expulsion in Other Contexts[edit | edit source]
Expulsion can also refer to the removal of a foreign object from the body, such as a kidney stone or a swallowed object. This is often facilitated by the body's natural defense mechanisms, such as coughing, vomiting, or urination.
