Flubrotizolam
Flubrotizolam is a benzodiazepine derivative which was first synthesized in 1975, but was never marketed. It has been sold online as a designer drug.
Chemistry[edit | edit source]
Flubrotizolam is a structural analogue of benzodiazepine. It is classified as a central nervous system (CNS) depressant, and belongs to a class of drugs known as thienodiazepines, which are bioisosteres to benzodiazepines.
Pharmacology[edit | edit source]
Flubrotizolam acts as a high-potency ultra-long-lasting benzodiazepine receptor agonist. It has been found to produce a variety of effects by binding to the benzodiazepine receptor site and magnifying the efficiency and effects of the neurotransmitter gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) by acting on its receptors.
Effects[edit | edit source]
The effects of Flubrotizolam include sedation, muscle relaxation, reduction in anxiety, and prevention of seizures. It has a high addictive potential and should be used with caution.
Legal Status[edit | edit source]
The legal status of Flubrotizolam varies by country. In some countries, it is legal for research purposes but not for human consumption.
