Frederick Lowy is a Canadian psychiatrist and university administrator. He is best known for his tenure as the President of Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.

Frederick Lowy was born in Vienna, Austria, and emigrated to Canada at a young age. He pursued his medical education at the University of Toronto, where he earned his MD degree. He later specialized in psychiatry and completed his residency at the McGill University.

Lowy began his career as a practicing psychiatrist and quickly became known for his contributions to the field. He held various academic positions, including a professorship at McGill University's Faculty of Medicine.
