Frinkiac is an online search engine for screenshots from the television show The Simpsons. It was created by Paul Kehrer, Sean Schulte, and Allie Young. The website allows users to search for specific moments from the show by entering quotes or keywords, and it generates corresponding screenshots from the episodes.

History[edit | edit source]

Frinkiac was launched in February 2016. The name "Frinkiac" is a reference to the character Professor Frink from The Simpsons. The creators developed the site as a tool to find and share memorable moments from the show, which has a vast number of episodes and quotes.

Functionality[edit | edit source]

Frinkiac indexes over three million screenshots from the first 15 seasons of The Simpsons. Users can search for specific quotes or keywords, and the search engine will return relevant screenshots. Each screenshot is accompanied by the corresponding quote from the episode. Users can also create memes by adding their own text to the images.

Expansion[edit | edit source]

In August 2016, the creators of Frinkiac launched a similar website called Morbotron, which serves the same purpose for the television show Futurama. This site indexes screenshots from all episodes of Futurama and allows users to search for quotes and create memes.
