Growth hormone treatment

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Growth hormone treatment is a form of hormone therapy that involves the use of growth hormone (GH) to help individuals with GH deficiency or other growth disorders. GH is a hormone that is produced by the pituitary gland and plays a key role in growth and development. Growth hormone treatment can be used to help children with GH deficiency grow taller and can also be used to treat adults with conditions such as Turner syndrome or adult GH deficiency. Treatment typically involves injections of GH and is closely monitored by a healthcare provider.
