The stem is cylindrical, measuring 4 to 10 cm in height and 1 to 2 cm in width, with a color similar to the cap but paler.
The spore print of H. olivaceoalbus is white, and its spores are ellipsoid, smooth, and hyaline. This species is considered edible, though not highly regarded due to its slimy texture and mild flavor.

Hygrophorus olivaceoalbus is predominantly found in temperate forests, forming symbiotic mycorrhizal relationships with hardwoods, especially oaks, and with conifers.
