Incirlik
Incirlik is a town and district located in the Adana Province of Turkey. It is primarily known for the Incirlik Air Base, a significant United States and NATO military facility. The town is situated in the Mediterranean region of the country, approximately 8 kilometers east of the city of Adana.

The history of Incirlik dates back to the ancient times, with the region being part of various empires including the Hittite Empire, Roman Empire, and Ottoman Empire. The modern town of Incirlik was established in the early 20th century, following the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire.
Incirlik Air Base[edit | edit source]
The Incirlik Air Base is a major air base located in Incirlik, operated by the United States Air Force and the Turkish Air Force. The base was established in 1954 as part of the joint defense agreement between Turkey and the United States during the Cold War. It has played a significant role in various military operations, including the Gulf War, Iraq War, and operations against ISIS.
