Jack Barrett (born 8 December 1866 – 2 March 1916) was an Australian cricketer who played in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace bowler.

Jack Barrett was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He developed an interest in cricket at a young age and quickly became known for his skills on the field.

Domestic Career[edit | edit source]

Barrett made his debut in first-class cricket for Victoria in the 1887-88 season. Over his career, he played a total of 29 first-class matches, scoring 1,217 runs at an average of 24.34. His highest score was 163, and he also took 12 wickets with his medium pace bowling.

Barrett was selected to play for the Australian national team and made his Test debut against England on 1 January 1890. He played a total of 3 Test matches, scoring 48 runs with a highest score of 26. Despite his limited success at the international level, he was known for his solid technique and reliable fielding.
