Janssen Pharmaceutica is a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Beerse, Belgium and owned by Johnson & Johnson. It was founded in 1953 by Paul Janssen.

Janssen Pharmaceutica was established in 1953 by Paul Janssen, a Belgian doctor who had a passion for pharmacology. The company was originally a part of the N.V. Produkten Richter in Turnhout. In 1956, Paul Janssen developed his first drug, Neomeritine, an antispasmodic found to have analgesic properties. In 1961, the company was acquired by the American corporation, Johnson & Johnson.

Janssen Pharmaceutica has developed and produced a variety of pharmaceutical products, including antipsychotic, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic drugs. Some of their most notable products include Risperdal, Prezista, and Remicade.
