Jenny Oropeza (September 27, 1957 – October 20, 2010) was an American politician who served as a member of the California State Senate and the California State Assembly. She was a member of the Democratic Party.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Oropeza was born in Montebello, California. She attended California State University, Long Beach, where she earned a degree in Business Administration. During her time at the university, she was actively involved in student government and served as the student body president.

Long Beach City Council[edit | edit source]

Oropeza began her political career on the Long Beach City Council, where she served from 1994 to 2000. During her tenure, she focused on issues such as public safety, economic development, and environmental protection.

In 2000, Oropeza was elected to the California State Assembly, representing the 55th district. She served in the Assembly until 2006.
