Juan Luis Manzur (born 8 January 1969) is an Argentine physician and politician who has served as the Governor of Tucumán Province since 29 October 2015. He previously served as the Minister of Health of Argentina from 2009 to 2015 under President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Manzur was born in San Miguel de Tucumán, the capital of Tucumán Province. He studied medicine at the University of Tucumán, where he earned his degree in 1993. He later specialized in public health and health administration.
Political career[edit | edit source]
Minister of Health[edit | edit source]
Manzur was appointed as the Minister of Health by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner on 6 July 2009, succeeding Graciela Ocaña. During his tenure, he focused on improving the public health system, expanding access to healthcare services, and addressing public health challenges such as the H1N1 influenza pandemic.
Governor of Tucumán[edit | edit source]
In 2015, Manzur ran for the office of Governor of Tucumán Province as a candidate of the Justicialist Party. He won the election and took office on 29 October 2015, succeeding José Alperovich. As governor, he has worked on various initiatives to improve the province's infrastructure, education, and healthcare systems.

Manzur is married and has children. He continues to be an influential figure in Argentine politics and is known for his commitment to public health and social welfare.
