Kyrgyz State Medical Academy

Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA), established in 1939, is one of the oldest medical schools in Kyrgyzstan. It is located in the country's capital, Bishkek. The academy is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is considered one of the top medical institutions in Central Asia.

The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy was founded on 1 September 1939. It was initially named the Frunze State Medical Institute, after the city of Frunze (now Bishkek). The academy has since grown and developed, becoming a leading institution in medical education and research in Kyrgyzstan.

Academics[edit | edit source]

KSMA offers a wide range of programs in various fields of medicine, including General Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Nursing. The academy also offers postgraduate programs and PhD programs. The medium of instruction is both English and Russian.

Campus[edit | edit source]

The campus of KSMA includes several academic buildings, a library, hostels for students, and a sports complex. The academy also has a number of affiliated hospitals where students gain practical experience.

KSMA is a member of the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) and the International Association of Universities (IAU). It also has partnerships with various international universities and research institutions.

Many graduates of KSMA have gone on to have successful careers in medicine, both in Kyrgyzstan and abroad. Some have become leading figures in their fields, contributing to the advancement of medical science and healthcare.
