- Le Flore County is a county located in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 50,384. Its county seat is Poteau. The county was created in 1907 from the former territory of the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory. It was named for a prominent Choctaw family, the LeFlore.
