Li Shu-fan

Li Shu Fan (1887–1966) was a prominent Hong Kong physician, educator, and philanthropist. He played a significant role in the development of medical services and education in Hong Kong and was a key figure in the establishment of several important medical institutions.

Li Shu Fan was born in Xinhui District, Guangdong Province, China. He pursued his early education in China before moving to the United States to study medicine. Li graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in medicine and later obtained further medical qualifications in the United States.

Upon returning to Hong Kong, Li Shu Fan began his medical practice and quickly became a respected figure in the medical community. He was instrumental in the founding of the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, which became one of the leading private hospitals in the region. Li served as the hospital's superintendent for many years, overseeing its growth and development.

Li Shu Fan was deeply committed to medical education. He was a founding member of the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese, which later became the University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine.
