Coffee drinks are made by brewing coffee beans. The brewing process and the addition of various ingredients result in a wide variety of coffee drinks. Below is a list of some of the most popular coffee drinks.
Espresso-based drinks[edit | edit source]
- Espresso: A concentrated coffee beverage brewed by forcing a small amount of nearly boiling water through finely-ground coffee beans.
- Americano: A coffee drink prepared by diluting an espresso with hot water.
- Cappuccino: A coffee drink consisting of equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and milk foam.
- Latte: A coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk, typically topped with a small amount of milk foam.
- Macchiato: An espresso "stained" with a small amount of milk or milk foam.
- Mocha: A chocolate-flavored variant of a latte, made with espresso, steamed milk, and chocolate syrup or cocoa powder.
Brewed coffee drinks[edit | edit source]
- Drip coffee: Coffee made by dripping boiling water over ground coffee, typically using a filter.
- French press: A method of brewing coffee by steeping coarsely ground coffee beans in hot water and then pressing the grounds out.
- Cold brew: Coffee brewed with cold water over an extended period, usually 12-24 hours.
- Turkish coffee: A method of brewing very finely ground coffee with water and sugar, often flavored with cardamom, and served unfiltered.
