Loizza Aquino was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended St. John's-Ravenscourt School, where she first became involved in mental health advocacy. Aquino later pursued higher education at the University of Toronto, where she continued her advocacy work.

Advocacy and Peace of Mind Canada[edit | edit source]

In 2015, following the loss of a close friend to suicide, Aquino founded Peace of Mind Canada, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health resources and support to young people. The organization hosts events, workshops, and seminars aimed at reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and promoting open conversations about mental well-being.
