Ludolf von Krehl
Ludolf von Krehl (December 17, 1861 – May 26, 1937) was a prominent German internist and physiologist. He made significant contributions to the field of internal medicine and was a pioneer in the study of pathophysiology.

Ludolf von Krehl was born in Leipzig, Kingdom of Saxony. He studied medicine at the University of Leipzig and later at the University of Strasbourg, where he earned his medical degree in 1885.

After completing his education, Krehl worked at various medical institutions, including the University of Heidelberg and the University of Freiburg. In 1902, he became a professor of internal medicine at the University of Heidelberg, where he remained for the rest of his career.
Krehl was known for his holistic approach to medicine, emphasizing the importance of understanding the patient's overall condition rather than focusing solely on specific symptoms. He was a key figure in the development of psychosomatic medicine, which explores the connection between psychological factors and physical health.
