Lujo mammarenavirus

Lujo mammarenavirus is a virus that was first identified in 2008, during an outbreak of hemorrhagic fever in southern Africa. The virus is named after the locations of the outbreak (Lusaka, Zambia and Johannesburg, South Africa). It is a member of the Arenaviridae family of viruses, which also includes the Lassa virus and the Machupo virus.
