Małgorzata Braunek
Małgorzata Braunek (30 January 1947 – 23 June 2014) was a renowned Polish film and stage actress. She was a prominent figure in Polish cinema during the 1960s and 1970s and is remembered for her significant contributions to the film industry.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Małgorzata Braunek was born in Szamotuły, Poland. She pursued her education at the National Film School in Łódź, where she honed her acting skills and prepared for a career in the performing arts.
Career[edit | edit source]
Braunek made her film debut in 1966 with a minor role in the movie Samson. She gained widespread recognition for her performance in the 1969 film The Third Part of the Night, directed by Andrzej Żuławski. Her portrayal of complex characters in films such as The Devil and The Hour-Glass Sanatorium further established her as a versatile and talented actress.
In addition to her film career, Braunek was also active in the theater. She performed in numerous productions at the National Theatre in Warsaw and other prestigious venues.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Małgorzata Braunek was married to director Andrzej Żuławski, with whom she had a son, Xawery Żuławski, who also became a filmmaker. Later, she married Andrzej Krajewski, a journalist, and had a daughter, Orina Krajewska.
Later Years and Death[edit | edit source]
In her later years, Braunek became a Buddhist and was actively involved in promoting Zen practices in Poland. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2013 and passed away on 23 June 2014 in Warsaw.

Małgorzata Braunek is remembered as one of the most influential actresses in Polish cinema. Her work continues to inspire new generations of actors and filmmakers.
