Mehgan Heaney-Grier

Mehgan Heaney-Grier is an American freediving champion, marine conservationist, and television personality. She is known for her contributions to the sport of freediving and her work in marine conservation.

Mehgan Heaney-Grier was born in 1977 in Duluth, Minnesota. She moved to the Florida Keys at a young age and developed a deep connection with the ocean. Her passion for the sea led her to pursue a career in marine conservation and freediving.

Heaney-Grier began her freediving career in the mid-1990s. In 1996, she established the first U.S. record for freediving, reaching a depth of 155 feet.
