Mephobarbital
Mephobarbital is a barbiturate medication that is primarily used as an anticonvulsant. It is a derivative of phenobarbital and is similar in structure and effects. Mephobarbital is marketed under the brand name Mebaral.
Pharmacology[edit | edit source]
Mephobarbital works by increasing the activity of GABA, a neurotransmitter that inhibits the activity of the brain and nervous system. This results in a calming effect, reducing anxiety and tension. It also has sedative properties, making it useful for treating insomnia and other sleep disorders.

Mephobarbital is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
