Michael Barratt may refer to:

Michael Barratt (astronaut)[edit | edit source]

Michael Reed Barratt (born April 16, 1959) is an American physician and a NASA astronaut. Specializing in aerospace medicine, he served as a flight surgeon for NASA before his selection as an astronaut, and has played a role in developing NASA's Space Medicine program.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Barratt was born in Vancouver, Washington. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Washington in 1981 and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Northwestern University in 1985.

NASA career[edit | edit source]

Barratt was selected as a NASA astronaut in 2000. He has been on two spaceflights and has logged over 211 days in space. Barratt launched on STS-133 in 2011, which was the final flight of Space Shuttle Discovery.

Michael Barratt (television presenter)[edit | edit source]

Michael Barratt (born 3 January 1928) is a British television presenter and journalist, best known for his work on the BBC's Nationwide programme.

Early life and career[edit | edit source]

Barratt was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire. He began his career in print journalism before moving to television, where he became a familiar face on BBC's Nationwide, a magazine-style show that ran from 1969 to 1983.

Later career[edit | edit source]

After Nationwide, Barratt continued to work in television and radio, presenting programmes such as Look North and Your Money or Your Life.
