Morris Ziff
Morris Ziff (1917–2005) was an American rheumatologist and immunologist known for his significant contributions to the field of rheumatology. He was a pioneer in the study of autoimmune diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis, and his work has had a profound impact on the understanding and treatment of these conditions.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Ziff was born in New York City in 1917. He completed his undergraduate studies at the City College of New York and went on to earn his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1941. Following his graduation, Ziff served as a medical officer in the United States Army during World War II.

After the war, Ziff returned to New York University, where he began his career in rheumatology. He was instrumental in establishing the Division of Rheumatic Diseases at the university and served as its director for many years.
