Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (born May 1967) is an American actor, playwright, and photographer. He is known for his work in theater, television, and film.
Early life and education[edit | edit source]
Ntare Mwine was born in Hanover, New Hampshire. He is of Ugandan descent. Mwine attended the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, the University of California, Los Angeles, and the Royal National Theatre in London.

Theater[edit | edit source]
Mwine's career began in the theater. He has performed in numerous stage productions, including August Wilson's King Hedley II and Danai Gurira's Eclipsed. He has also written and performed in his own one-man shows, such as Biro and A Missionary Position.
Television[edit | edit source]
Mwine has appeared in several television series. He is perhaps best known for his role as Joseph Kony in the HBO series The Wire. He has also had recurring roles in Heroes, Treme, and Bosch.

In addition to his work in television, Mwine has appeared in several films. His film credits include Blood Diamond, 40, and Queen of Katwe.

Mwine is also an accomplished photographer. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, including the United Nations and the Smithsonian Institution.
