Pesaro is a city and comune in the Marche region of Italy, situated on the Adriatic Sea. It is the capital of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino. Pesaro is known for its rich history, cultural heritage, and as the birthplace of the famous composer Gioachino Rossini.

The origins of Pesaro date back to the Roman era when it was known as Pisaurum. It was founded as a colony in 184 BC.
