Pierre Chan
Pierre Chan (Chinese: 陳沛然) is a Hong Kong medical doctor and politician. He is a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo), representing the Medical functional constituency. Chan is known for his advocacy on healthcare issues and his role in the medical community in Hong Kong.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Pierre Chan was born in Hong Kong. He completed his secondary education at La Salle College, a prestigious boys' school in Hong Kong. Chan pursued his medical degree at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS).
Medical Career[edit | edit source]
After obtaining his medical degree, Chan began his career as a medical doctor. He specialized in gastroenterology and hepatology, focusing on diseases related to the digestive system and liver. Chan has worked in various public hospitals in Hong Kong, gaining extensive experience in his field.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Pierre Chan entered politics as a representative of the Medical functional constituency in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. He was first elected in the 2016 Legislative Council election. As a legislator, Chan has been an advocate for healthcare reform, patient rights, and the improvement of working conditions for medical professionals.
