Product 19

Product 19 is a breakfast cereal that was produced by the Kellogg Company. It was first introduced to the market in 1967 and was discontinued in 2016. The cereal was well-known for its high vitamin and mineral content, which included 100% of the U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance of 12 important vitamins and minerals.

Product 19 was created by the Kellogg Company in 1967 as a part of their line of "Total" cereals, which were designed to provide 100% of the recommended daily allowance of several key nutrients. The name "Product 19" was derived from the fact that it was the 19th product developed by the company's new product development team.

Nutritional Value[edit | edit source]

One of the key selling points of Product 19 was its high nutritional value. Each serving of the cereal provided 100% of the U.S. Recommended Dietary Allowance of vitamins A, C, D, E, B6, B12, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folic acid, pantothenic acid, and zinc. This made it a popular choice among health-conscious consumers.

Despite its nutritional benefits, Product 19 was discontinued in 2016. The decision was made due to declining sales and a shift in consumer preferences towards cereals with less added vitamins and minerals.

Even though Product 19 is no longer in production, it has left a lasting impact on the cereal industry. It was one of the first cereals to focus on providing a complete range of vitamins and minerals, setting a precedent for many cereals that followed.
