Rangpur

Rangpur is a city in the northern part of Bangladesh. It is the administrative seat of the Rangpur Division, one of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh. The city is one of the oldest in Bangladesh, with a rich history and cultural heritage.

The history of Rangpur dates back to the 16th century when it was a part of the Mughal Empire. The city was a significant center of trade and commerce during the Mughal period. The city's name is believed to have been derived from "Rangapur", the name of an old estate in the region.
