Rappi
Rappi is a multinational technology company that specializes in online food delivery services. Founded in 2015, the company is headquartered in Bogota, Colombia, and operates in several countries across South America, including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Peru. Rappi also has a presence in Mexico and Costa Rica.

Rappi was founded by Simon Borrero, Sebastian Mejia, and Felipe Villamarin in 2015. The company initially started as a grocery delivery service but quickly expanded to include restaurant food delivery, pharmacy products, and even cash delivery.
In 2016, Rappi raised $9 million in a Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz. This was followed by a $185 million Series B funding round in 2018, which catapulted Rappi into the unicorn status, with a valuation of over $1 billion.

Rappi offers a wide range of services, including food delivery, grocery delivery, pharmacy product delivery, and cash delivery. The company also offers a subscription service called RappiPrime, which provides free deliveries for a monthly fee.
Rappi's food delivery service partners with a wide range of restaurants, from fast-food chains to high-end dining establishments. Users can browse through the available options, place an order, and track the delivery in real-time through the Rappi app.
Criticism and Controversy[edit | edit source]
Rappi has faced criticism for its treatment of delivery workers, known as Rappitenderos. There have been reports of low wages, lack of benefits, and poor working conditions. In 2019, Rappitenderos in Colombia organized a strike to protest against these issues.
