Rashid Bashir
Rashid Bashir is a prominent Pakistani-American engineer, scientist, and academic administrator. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the fields of bioengineering, biomedical engineering, and microtechnology. Bashir currently serves as the Dean of the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Rashid Bashir was born in Pakistan. He completed his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University. He then pursued his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.

Bashir began his academic career as a faculty member at Purdue University before moving to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). At UIUC, he has held various positions, including the Abel Bliss Professor of Engineering and the Head of the Department of Bioengineering.

Rashid Bashir's research interests lie at the intersection of engineering and biology. His work focuses on developing microfluidic and nanotechnology-based tools for biomedical applications.
