Ricardo Barros ministro



Ricardo José Magalhães Barros (born 15 November 1959) is a Brazilian politician and engineer. He is a member of the Progressistas (PP) party and has served as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies representing the state of Paraná since 1995. Barros also served as the Minister of Health from 2016 to 2018 under the administration of President Michel Temer.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Ricardo Barros was born in Maringá, Paraná, Brazil. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the Universidade Estadual de Maringá.

Political Career[edit | edit source]

Barros began his political career in the 1980s. He was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1995 and has been re-elected in subsequent elections. Throughout his tenure, he has been involved in various legislative activities and has held several key positions within the Progressistas party.

Minister of Health[edit | edit source]

In May 2016, Barros was appointed as the Minister of Health by President Michel Temer. During his tenure, he focused on improving the efficiency of the public health system and implementing cost-saving measures. He served in this role until April 2018, when he resigned to run for re-election to the Chamber of Deputies.

Ricardo Barros is married to Cida Borghetti, who is also a prominent politician. The couple has two children.
