Rules (novel)
Rules is a novel written by Cynthia Lord that was published in 2006. The novel is a Newbery Honor book (2007), as well as the recipient of the Schneider Family Book Award (2007). The story revolves around a twelve-year-old girl named Catherine, who is torn between caring for her autistic brother David and her desire to lead a normal life.

The novel Rules begins with Catherine, a 12-year-old girl, trying to teach her younger brother David, who has autism, about the rules of life.
