Springer Nature is a global academic publishing company that was formed in 2015 through the merger of Springer Science+Business Media and the majority of Macmillan Science and Education. The company is headquartered in Berlin, Germany, and London, United Kingdom.
Springer Nature is known for publishing a wide range of academic journals, books, and databases across various disciplines, including the natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and the social sciences.

Springer Nature was established in 2015, but its roots trace back to the 19th century. Springer Science+Business Media was founded in 1842 by Julius Springer in Berlin. Over the years, it grew to become one of the largest academic publishers in the world.
Macmillan Science and Education was part of the Macmillan Group, which was founded in 1843 by Daniel Macmillan and Alexander Macmillan. The group was known for its educational and academic publishing.
The merger of these two entities in 2015 created Springer Nature, which has since become a leading force in academic publishing.
