Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research
Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), formerly known as Sri Ramachandra University, is a prominent private university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1985 by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust, it was conceived as a center of excellence in health care, education, and research. The institute gained the status of a Deemed to be University in September 1994 under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
