Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) is a public university located in Guwahati, Assam, India. It was established in 2009 with the aim of providing quality education and research in the field of health sciences. The university is named after the great medieval saint and social reformer, Srimanta Sankaradeva, who played a significant role in the cultural and spiritual development of Assam.

The establishment of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences was a significant milestone in the field of healthcare education in Assam. Prior to its establishment, medical and paramedical colleges in the state were affiliated to Gauhati University. However, there was a need for a dedicated university to focus on health sciences education and research. The Assam Legislative Assembly passed the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences Act in 2007, and the university was officially inaugurated in 2009.
