Steven E. Wilson
Steven E. Wilson is a prominent American ophthalmologist and researcher known for his contributions to the field of corneal biology and refractive surgery. He has made significant advancements in understanding the mechanisms of corneal wound healing and the development of new surgical techniques.

Steven E. Wilson was born in the United States. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, where he earned a degree in Biology. He then attended UCSF School of Medicine, where he received his M.D. degree. Following medical school, Wilson completed a residency in Ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic and a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the Baylor College of Medicine.

Wilson began his career as a faculty member at the University of Washington, where he focused on corneal research and clinical practice. He later joined the Cleveland Clinic as the Director of Corneal Research. During his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, Wilson's research primarily centered on the cellular and molecular mechanisms of corneal wound healing.

Wilson's research has significantly advanced the understanding of corneal wound healing. He has published numerous articles on the role of growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular matrix components in corneal repair processes.
