Sundari Mohan Das
Sundari Mohan Das (1878–1922) was a prominent Indian physician and philanthropist, best known for his contributions to the field of medicine and for his philanthropic efforts in the city of Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India. He was a key figure in the establishment of several medical institutions and played a significant role in the improvement of public health in the early 20th century in Bengal.

He completed his education in medicine from the Calcutta Medical College, one of the oldest and most prestigious medical colleges in India. After completing his studies, Das dedicated his life to the service of the poor and the sick.

After obtaining his medical degree, Sundari Mohan Das embarked on a career that was marked by his dedication to healthcare and philanthropy. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Victoria Institution (College), a significant educational institution in Kolkata for women, demonstrating his commitment to women's education and empowerment.
One of his most notable contributions was the founding of the Chittaranjan Seva Sadan for women and children. This institution was established to provide medical care to women and children, who were often neglected in the healthcare system of the time. The Chittaranjan Seva Sadan has grown over the years and continues to serve as a major healthcare institution in Kolkata.
Das was also involved in the fight against the plague epidemic that hit Kolkata in the early 20th century. He worked tirelessly to provide medical care to the affected population and was instrumental in organizing plague camps and hospitals to isolate and treat patients. His efforts were crucial in controlling the spread of the disease.
