Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University is a premier medical education institution located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is named after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), and was established in 1987 with the purpose of consolidating all medical colleges and institutions in Tamil Nadu under one affiliating university, thereby ensuring a high standard of medical education.
